The Greenwich CSD school board has a vacancy.  The open seat will be a temporary appointment on February 14th through the next BOE election on May 17, 2022. Here are the basic eligibility requirements:

Eligibility Requirements

Generally, school board candidates must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, qualified voters in the school district and able to read and write. They must be residents of their districts continuously for one year (as little as 30 days or as long as three years in some city school districts) before the election. At the time when the board member takes office, they cannot be employed by the board on which they serve or live in the same household with a family member who is also a member of the same school board.

Process-

  • Letters of interest should be submitted to Mark Fish, Superintendent of School, by Friday, January 14, 2022.

  • Two board members and the Superintendent will meet with all that submit letters of interest on Monday, January 31st, prior to the budget workshop.  

  • The selected person would be seated at the February 14th meeting and serve out the year through May 17, 2022, board election.

Regular BOE meetings are once per month on Mondays.

Additional budget workshops occur January-April.

In May of 2022 there will be a regular 5-year term, a 1-year term and a 2-year term on the ballot.
