The Capital Chapter had an AMAZING turnout for this year's Operation Safe Stop Event/Press conference.

50+ capital chapter members, local, state, county law enforcement representatives and 12 honored guests came together and educated, and shone a spotlight on this safety topic. The importance of stopping for school buses with their red lights flashing and stop arms extended.

OPERATION SAFE STOP 2023
"It’s the law that you must stop on red when a school bus is picking up or dropping off children. Unfortunately, many people do not pay attention when they are driving and all too frequently illegally pass a stopped school bus. According to Operation Safe Stop, it’s estimated that every day, over 50,000 motor vehicles illegally pass a stopped school bus in New York State. That's why today, I joined other local officials and law enforcement with the NY Association for Pupil Transportation to raise awareness of this to help save lives, keep kids safer and make drivers more mindful when they see a stopped school bus." Senator Tedisco said at OSS.
